Chelsea forward Joao Pedro has emerged as the Premier League’s leading pre-season scorer, giving the new campaign a glimpse of his attacking threat ahead of Friday’s kick-off.

EPL website on Monday noted that the Brazilian scored seven goals during Chelsea’s preparations, including a remarkable nine-minute hat-trick against Western Sydney Wanderers and braces against AC Milan and Real Sociedad.

Aston Villa teenager Brian Madjo is next with five goals.

The 17-year-old also scored against Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup, but missed Villa’s final friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach amid reports of an injury.
