Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Neche, voluntarily left the reality TV show due to pressing personal matters, the organisers have said.

Big Brother Naija production team disclosed this in a statement on Monday, following the housemate’s sudden departure from the show on Sunday.

The organisers said Neche made the decision voluntarily and cited personal matters that required her immediate attention.

“Neche took this decision as a result of pressing personal matters, which she said required immediate attention,” the statement read.

The development came shortly after Sunday’s live eviction show, when Neche, who was the Head of House for the week, gathered the other housemates in the lounge and announced that she had decided to leave the competition.

She did not disclose the reason for her decision to the other contestants at the time, leaving some of them emotional.

Neche subsequently removed her microphone and name tag before proceeding to the diary room to complete the process of her exit.

Her sudden departure also sparked reactions among fans, with some speculating that the announcement could be a prank or a twist by the show’s organisers.

However, the organisers have now clarified that her exit was voluntary and linked to personal circumstances.

The production team commended Neche for her performance during her time in the house, noting that she recorded notable wins and achievements during her stay.

“We applaud Neche’s energy and commitment to the show, which was evident from her notable wins and achievements in the house,” the statement said.

While expressing sadness over her departure, the organisers said they respected her decision and wished her success beyond the reality show.

“While we are sad to see her leave the house, we respect her decision and wish her continued success in her endeavours,” they said.

The organisers added that Neche remained part of the BBNaija family and expressed optimism about her future after the show.

“She remains part of the BBNaija family, and we look forward to seeing all that she will achieve beyond the show,” the statement added.

The 2026 edition of BBNaija, themed ‘Show Ya Sef’, premiered on July 26, with 24 housemates competing for a record ₦160 million grand prize.

Martins and Mercedes were the first housemates to leave the season after they were evicted from the show, while Kamsy became the third contestant to be evicted on Sunday.
