Social Democratic Party (SDP) National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, has said the party would soon unveil its presidential campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aiyenigba disclosed this while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune correspondent in Abuja on Tuesday on the party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
He said the party was consulting widely and putting together a formidable campaign team that would take its presidential candidate, Prince Adedayo Adewole, across the country.

According to him, the SDP would not disappoint Nigerians who were looking to the party as an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Our great party, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, will not disappoint the Nigerian masses who have been waiting for us as the alternative option to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
“Serious consultations are going on to put together a formidable presidential campaign team that will deliver our candidate, Prince Adedayo Adewole,” he said.
Aiyenigba said the campaign council, which would be unveiled soon, would comprise prominent Nigerians from the six geopolitical zones.
He said the council would take the party’s manifesto and campaign message to Nigerians across the country ahead of the election.
“The campaign council being put together by the party, which will be unveiled soon, is expected to comprise people of note across the six geopolitical zones of the country and will take our party’s manifesto round the country ahead of the election,” he said.
The SDP spokesman said the party was determined to mount a robust nationwide campaign, adding that the campaign structure would reflect the personality and expectations of its presidential candidate.
“Our presidential candidate is a man with taste, so don’t expect lesser campaign outfits from his party. The campaign council will take the nation by storm from day one till the end. Consultations are going on; we are consulting widely,” he said.
Aiyenigba urged Nigerians to watch out for the SDP, saying the party was preparing to offer an alternative political platform ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We have done it before; we are going to do it better this time around,” he said.
