Contractor Previews SUPA Initiative Facilities

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has completed the installation of advanced vocational facilities at its Model Skills Academy along the Jos-Bukuru Expressway in Plateau State.

The infrastructure project, executed through a public-private partnership with Valentino Resources Limited, aims to support the Federal Government’s Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) program designed to elevate Nigerian skilled labour to global standards.

Speaking following a facility inspection by ITF Director-General/CE, Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, the President/CEO of Valentino Resources Limited, Tadas Okonkwo Esq., disclosed that the project was fully funded and delivered as a Turkish investment.

Tadas stated that the Director General/CE of the Industrial Training Fund, Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, structured the project to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration mandate on youth empowerment and vocational development.

According to him: “The newly installed infrastructure spans multiple technical trade departments, including culinary bakery/pastries, industrial garment production, automated monogramming, and commercial textile knitting.

“The culinary division features custom mobile stainless-steel workstations integrated with e-learning systems comprising touchscreen televisions, ceiling-mounted smoke extractors, flat tabletop gas cookers, handcrafted wash hand basins, ovens, LED lighting, etc for remote instruction, alongside commercial-grade baking and pastry equipment.

“The garment and textile wings have been outfitted with multi-head automated monogramming units and industrial knitting machinery.

“Three high-capacity industrial knitting units are also scheduled for final installation to support scale operations”, he said.

Tadas noted that the intensive setup process was completed over a 13-month operational window, involving round-the-clock technical installation.
