Veteran actors Jide Kosoko and Yinka Quadri have appealed to members of the public to continue praying for their ailing colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, while explaining why he cannot currently be taken to other treatment centres.
The clarification came after a wave of offers from individuals claiming to have medical, spiritual and traditional remedies that could assist the actor, who is reportedly battling stage-four cancer.
Recall that Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Haleemah, had recently sought public support after revealing their father’s health condition and appealing for help in exploring available treatment options.
Their appeal generated widespread concern, with several people offering to connect the family with hospitals, traditional practitioners and other forms of intervention.
But in a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Kosoko and Quadri said the family was unable to respond individually to the numerous offers because of Ogogo’s present condition.

According to the actors, more than 300 people, and possibly over 500, have contacted the family with offers of assistance.
They said the difficulty was not a lack of willingness to explore possible options, but the practical challenge of moving Ogogo from the hospital where he is currently being cared for.
“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him,” the actors said.
“Please understand that our inability to bring him to anyone does not mean that we do not appreciate you, nor does it mean that we doubt your intentions or your desire to help,” they said.
Kosoko and Quadri also expressed gratitude for the prayers, messages and encouragement received from Ogogo’s fans and well-wishers across the world.
They urged Nigerians to continue praying for the actor, expressing hope that he would recover.
“Please, continue to pray with us. We believe strongly that, with your prayers, our prayers, and the mercy of Almighty God, Taye will come out of this situation. There is nothing impossible before Almighty God,” they said.
The actors further appealed to individuals offering spiritual or alternative treatment to understand the family’s predicament.
They explained that moving Ogogo to different locations at this stage of his treatment could be extremely difficult, particularly given the large number of people who had offered to assist.
“We also want to clarify something very important. Please, do not feel offended or disappointed if we are unable to bring Ogogo to you for spiritual assistance or treatment.
“It is extremely difficult to move him from the hospital to different locations at this stage of his treatment, especially considering the large number of people who have offered to help,” they said.
