Management of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has graduated 21 participants of the Basic Aeronautical Information Management Officer’s Course No. 17 (BAIMO-17).
The graduation of the trainees, sponsored by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), held at the College’s Ultra-Modern Auditorium Hall on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Mrs. Kalejaiye Olive, the Course Coordinator BAIMO-17 who gave the course appraisal said: “The course began on November 17, 2025 and ended today, August 14, 2026. The objective of the course is to equip participants with knowledge of Aeronautical Information Management.
“The course ran for 34 weeks, and the participants undertook their on-the-job training (OJT) at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and Mallam Aminu International Airport, Kano.
“After various rigorous training sessions, all the students passed their examinations and are ready to be declared graduates of NCAT,” she said.

The Course Coordinator noted that all twenty-one (21) participants were sponsored by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
The Rector/Chief Executive, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, was represented by the Head, Area Airways, Mrs. Bello Shebe, who declared the participants graduates of NCAT.
Mr. John Tayo gave the sponsors’ remarks. He appreciated the Managing Director of NAMA, Engr. Farouk Umar, for sponsoring NAMA staff to undergo the training in order to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to discharge their duties effectively.
He charged the graduates to make use of the knowledge and skills gained at NCAT in their respective stations, stressing the importance of their jobs in ensuring the safety of aircraft while flying.
The General Manager of Gusau International Airport, Alh. Kabir Yahaya Gusau, who is a former General Manager, Aeronautical Information Services (AIS), at NAMA Headquarters, Abuja, congratulated the newly graduated students and urged them to take their jobs seriously and discharge their duties professionally.
The graduation ceremony was attended by the Registrar (Academic), Mr. Imoh Effiong; the representative of the Dean, Flying School, Instructor Daniel Tanimola; ASM, NAMA Zaria, Mr. Ajiga Bello; GM, AIS, NAMA, Mr. Olalekan James; among others.
