Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has revealed that signing singer Ayra Starr to his label, Mavin Records, was not only a turning point in her career but also a life-changing moment for him.

The producer made the disclosure while reacting to a post by an X user who shared an old photo of Ayra Starr and praised Don Jazzy for helping her rise to stardom.

Responding, Don Jazzy recounted how he first discovered her talent through an Instagram freestyle:

“I bless the day I was shown her Instagram freestyle. She has most definitely changed my own life too. And she has been nothing but a dream Starrgirl.”

Ayra Starr, who joined Mavin Records in 2020 after her viral freestyles and covers, has since become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated Afropop stars, earning international recognition and reshaping the sound of contemporary African music.
