Some celebrations call for a grand ballroom. Others feel more special when the guest list is smaller, the setting feels personal and every detail has room to be noticed.

For the latter, there’s a new space in Lagos to discover.

Coral at The Lofts is an indoor event venue within 234Loft on Oba Elegushi Private Beach, Oniru, created for intimate celebrations of up to 120 guests, depending on the chosen arrangement.

It is also the first fully indoor, climate-controlled event space at 234Loft, adding a new dimension to a destination previously centred around outdoor and beachfront experiences.

A space you can make your own

Rather than giving hosts a traditional hall with a fixed setup, Coral begins with a contemporary interior that can serve as the foundation for different occasions and aesthetics.

A textured stone feature wall with integrated warm lighting brings character to one side of the room, complemented by wood-look flooring and a dark slatted ceiling. Full-length drapery provides a softer backdrop around the space.

For a celebration, furniture can be removed or rearranged to accommodate the desired setup.

That could mean round tables for an intimate wedding reception, dinner or milestone birthday; theatre seating for a ceremony or programme; or an open floor for cocktails and dancing.

For more relaxed occasions, its existing lounge furniture — including velvet armchairs, channelled sofas and colourful ottomans  creates an entirely different atmosphere without requiring a complete redesign.

Made for the practical side of celebrating, too

Of course, choosing a venue is about more than how it photographs.

Coral includes tables and chairs and is equipped with air conditioning, a sound system, speakers, a projector and screen, and event lighting.

There is 24/7 power, on-site parking and restrooms, while catering, food and drinks arrangements and bar setups are also available.

These details give couples, celebrants and planners a useful starting point before décor, florals, entertainment and the more personal elements of an occasion are introduced.

The beach becomes part of the experience

Perhaps the most distinctive part of hosting at Coral is one you won’t find inside the hall.

The venue sits on the grounds of 234Loft, directly on Oba Elegushi Private Beach.

It means an indoor celebration can still borrow from its surroundings: photographs by the water, welcome drinks outdoors, some time by the beach after dinner, or simply giving guests somewhere else to enjoy during a longer celebration.

The property also has a swimming pool and approximately 10 guest rooms, which can be particularly useful when planning an occasion that extends beyond a few hours.

A birthday could become a weekend with friends. An intimate wedding could bring ceremony, celebration and accommodation into one destination. A bridal shower or anniversary dinner could simply end with everyone walking towards the water.

For celebrations that don’t need hundreds of guests to feel significant

There has been a growing appeal to celebrations that prioritise experience over sheer size.

Coral lends itself naturally to that kind of occasion.

It could host an intimate wedding, bridal or baby shower, engagement celebration, milestone birthday, anniversary, private dinner or another gathering where the intention is to bring the right people together in a setting that still feels special.
And because the room itself is relatively neutral and adaptable, hosts can decide whether their occasion should feel romantic, minimal, colourful, formal or completely their own.

For anyone currently searching for an intimate event venue in Lagos or Lekki, Coral at The Lofts offers another possibility — this time, with the beach waiting just beyond the doors.
