The Nasarawa state government said it has noted with appreciation that the state was not included in the recent United Kingdom travel advisory.

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Abdullahi Sule, Ibrahim Addra, stated this in a release on Friday in Lafia.

The CPS said Nasarawa was the only state in the North-central states not included in the latest UK’s travel advisory.

The advisory, which was issued through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), advised only essential travels to all the states in the North-central except Nasarawa.

He said, “While we desire that such an advisory in Nigeria becomes unnecessary sooner rather than later; the government receives this development with humility and gratitude to Almighty God.

“We recognise it as an encouraging reflection of the collective efforts to promote peace and security in our state.

“We are grateful for the unwavering support of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, in particular and the sacrifices of our security agencies.”

According to the CPS, the positive outcome was a reflection of the deliberate measures taken by the administration of the governor to strengthen security, support security agencies, and foster closer collaboration with communities and other stakeholders.

He therefore appealed to the citizens to remain vigilant, and continue to support the security agencies by providing timely and credible information.
