The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari, has assured Nigerians that the ruling party remains committed to fulfilling every promise made to the electorate, declaring that keeping faith with campaign pledges is a core value of the APC.

Yari spoke on Sunday shortly after arriving at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from an overseas trip, where he was received by a large crowd of party supporters and loyalists.

Speaking to journalists at the airport, the former Zamfara State Governor expressed confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reiterated the party’s commitment to delivering on its electoral promises.

“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during the campaign, we shall keep to our promises,” Yari said.

“Today, we have seen him (President Bola Ahmed Tinubu) as President, and by the grace of God, he shall remain President after the 2027 election.”

The APC campaign chief described the enthusiastic reception accorded him by supporters as a demonstration of confidence in the party and its leadership.

“The crowd is here to pray for me and for the success of Mr. President,” he stated. “Our party is known for keeping its word. We pray that Almighty Allah grants the President the wisdom to continue leading this country successfully. We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfill all our campaign promises.”

Yari also expressed optimism about the future of the ruling party beyond the Tinubu administration, saying the APC would continue to remain the preferred platform for national leadership.

“We pray that our party will continue to be the party that leads this country even after President Tinubu completes his second term in office,” he added.

His remarks came barely 24 hours after his appointment as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council was officially announced by the party.

The APC on Saturday unveiled its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu named as Chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as Vice Chairman.

Yari was appointed Director-General of the campaign council, while Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State was named Secretary. The council also features several governors, former governors, ministers, National Assembly leaders, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), and other key stakeholders of the ruling party.

Party leaders have described Yari’s appointment as a strategic choice aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation, expanding political outreach, and consolidating support for President Tinubu across the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

A former Governor of Zamfara State and former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Yari is widely regarded as one of the APC’s most influential political figures, particularly in the North-West region. He currently represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the Senate and has played a prominent role in the party’s electoral victories and coalition-building efforts over the years.

Political observers believe his extensive network across the country, coupled with his experience in governance and legislative affairs, will be critical in coordinating the APC’s nationwide campaign machinery as the party seeks a second term mandate for President Tinubu in 2027.
