The Lagos State University has said all outstanding results for graduating students in the Department of English have been uploaded, assuring that students who have fulfilled all graduation requirements will graduate with their peers.
The university disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, following an enquiry by its management into allegations that some students were facing delayed graduation because of unuploaded results.
“Following an enquiry by the University Management into the allegation concerning the non-upload of results of some graduating students in the Department of English, the University wishes to clarify that the Department has uploaded all outstanding results as of Sunday, 23 August 2026,” the statement said.
The institution consequently assured that no qualified student would be required to spend an additional year because of the issue.
“Consequently, all students who have fulfilled all requirements for graduation will graduate with their peers in the just-concluded 2025/2026 academic session,” it stated.
It added, “No student who has met all graduation requirements will be required to spend an extra year on account of the issue raised.”
However, LASU clarified that students whose results remained outstanding after the latest update had not yet fulfilled the requirements for graduation.
“Any student whose result remains outstanding following this action has yet to fulfil the requirements for graduation and is advised to complete the necessary requirements accordingly,” the university said.
The development followed allegations on social media that more than 100 students in the Department of English could miss the university’s last convocation because some results had allegedly not been uploaded.
The allegations were amplified by an X user, @TheAjakeManger, who claimed that the issue affected students across different levels and could result in some students spending an additional year at the university.
LASU had on Saturday acknowledged the complaint and said management was looking into the matter.
The university said it remained committed to ensuring that students who had satisfied all graduation requirements were not unnecessarily delayed in completing their programmes.
