Nigerian singer, Alexander Adelabu, popularly known as Magixx, has announced the death of his mother, Esther, describing her passing as one of the most painful experiences of his life.

The 26-year-old singer announced her death in an emotional tribute shared on social media, saying he was struggling to accept the reality of losing his mother.

“I have never felt pain like this, never been this lost. Still processing that this is real, can’t believe this will happen to you Mom,” he wrote.

Magixx said his mother had spent the last six years fighting for her family, friends and strangers while remaining cheerful despite her illness.

“I watched you fight so hard for your family, friends and strangers, especially these last six years, with a smile on your face, full of life, even in sickness! The strength of your heart!” he wrote.

The singer described his mother as free-spirited, witty and kind, saying people who met her were naturally drawn to her personality.

“Nobody comes in contact with you and not fall in love with your free spirit, wittiness and kindness,” he said.

Recalling their close relationship, Magixx described his mother as his “reason,” “guardian,” “twin” and “everything,” adding that he was proud she was the woman who gave birth to him.

“You are my reason, my why, my guardian, my twin, my everything. Super proud that you are the one who birthed me, and I’ll choose you again and again in every lifetime, every cycle,” he wrote.

He added, “I am going to miss you so much! Nobody can take your place.”

Magixx concluded the tribute with a message of hope that they would meet again.

“This isn’t goodbye, it’s goodnight, as we will surely meet again in the morning, my queen. I love you to infinity and a billion lifetimes. Thank you, Esther,” he wrote.
