Nigerian TikToker Mirabel, whose rape allegation sparked widespread public attention earlier this year, has returned to social media months after undergoing rehabilitation in Ogun State.

Mirabel returned on Saturday with a video posted on TikTok, marking her first social media activity since February.

In the post, she shared a message that appeared to address the backlash and criticism she received following the controversy.

“I survived, so I’m awaiting your hate comments,” she wrote.

The development comes months after Mirabel was placed under the care of the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development following investigations into her claims.

Mirabel had earlier gained public attention in February after posting emotional videos on TikTok alleging that she was sexually assaulted in her residence.

The videos triggered widespread reactions online and prompted intervention from authorities, including the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), which initially sought to establish contact with her.

However, after it was discovered that the alleged incident occurred in Ogun State, the matter was transferred to the relevant authorities in the state.

The Ogun State Ministry of Justice later announced that investigations had found the rape allegation to be false and deliberately fabricated.

According to the ministry, findings from relevant authorities, alongside statements attributed to Mirabel, showed inconsistencies in the claim.

Despite the outcome of the investigation, the Ogun State Government decided against prosecuting her, opting instead for psychosocial rehabilitation.

Her return to social media has since generated reactions online, with some users welcoming her comeback while others continue to debate the events surrounding the case.

Mirabel’s latest post marks her first public appearance online after months away from social media and rehabilitation.
