Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has revealed how he got his stage name from a friend who was not actively using it.
The rapper made this known during an interview while explaining the story behind the name Blaqbonez.
According to him, the name originally belonged to a friend who loved rap and had given himself the name, despite not pursuing a career in music at the time.

Blaqbonez said he approached his friend while they were still in school and asked to use the name because he liked it.
“I stole it, you know, it was my friend’s name. There was Blaqbonez and he wasn’t using it for anything, the guy, he liked rap, so he gave himself a rap name. He wasn’t even rapping, he wasn’t doing anything with the name. So, one day I just said, bro, you know, dey use this name. I like am, and that’s how I started bearing Blaqbonez. I swear. He’s not using it for anything. He’s not using it,” he said.
