The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system allowing candidates to upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes after the results have been verified directly with the relevant examination bodies.

The Board said the initiative, which begins with results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is part of its renewed effort to make its services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.

Under the new arrangement, candidates will no longer need to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres solely to upload their O’Level results, as the Board will verify the results directly with the examination bodies before they are uploaded to candidates’ profiles.

JAMB said the initiative would also reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes, while addressing challenges associated with the manual uploading of results.

These challenges include misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent certificates, as well as errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.

According to the Board, the integration of its e-Facility platform with the examination bodies enables candidates’ results to be verified directly against the records of the issuing examination bodies before being downloaded into their JAMB profiles.

Explaining how the new process works, a statement signed by the Ag. Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, explained that to begin the verification process, candidates are required to visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng, enter their National Identification Number (NIN) and click on “Verify NIN.”

They are then expected to select the number of sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies before providing their email address and GSM number and proceeding to make payment through the available payment gateway.

After payment, candidates are required to enter their examination number, examination series and examination year to verify their result or results and obtain a Verification Code.

The candidate will then send VERIFY followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. Upon successful verification, the result will be uploaded, and the candidate will receive a notification.

Candidates with two sittings will subsequently be notified to visit their profile on JAMB’s e-Facility platform, where they will click on “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”

They will then enter their Verification Code, after which their two verified results will be displayed.

Candidates are required to select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once, before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results.”

A notification will be sent to the candidate upon successful completion of the upload.
JAMB said the verification service would provide candidates with a convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.

The initiative, according to the Board, is also in line with the commitment of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to building a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.

JAMB said it would continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates.
