Victor Osimhen could be the answer to Manchester United’s attacking problems if the Nigerian striker eventually makes the move to Old Trafford, according to Turkish pundit Yetiş Yönetci.
Speaking in comments shared by A Spor, Yönetci hailed the Galatasaray forward’s quality and suggested that there are few clubs in Europe where he would not be capable of playing.
“Victor Osimhen would be the cure for all of Manchester United’s woes,” Yönetci said.
Former Göztepe youth chief scout Burak Kural also backed the assessment.
“Absolutely! There are very few teams in Europe that Osimhen couldn’t play for,” he said.
The comments come after Osimhen’s explosive start to the season in Turkey, with the Nigeria international scoring four goals and providing an assist in his opening two games.
United, meanwhile, endured a nightmare start to the Premier League campaign, losing 2-0 away to newly promoted Hull City.
Osimhen has been linked with United in the past, although no move has materialised, while several former Red Devils have publicly urged the club to pursue the striker.
Former United defender Patrice Evra recently identified Osimhen as his dream signing for the club, arguing that the Nigerian could provide the firepower needed to compete on multiple fronts.
“Osimhen. I have all due respect for Galatasaray, the love he gets there and the kind of player he is,” Evra said.
“Man United need a proper striker. I have so much respect for the strikers at Man United, and sometimes Bryan Mbeumo. But back in the day, we had four amazing strikers, and if you want to compete in every competition, you need more strikers.
“But if I have to name one player, I’ll say Osimhen because I know he can make the difference.”
With Osimhen continuing to make an impact at Galatasaray and United searching for greater firepower, speculation over a potential move to Old Trafford is likely to persist.
