The remains of veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have been buried in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
Ogogo was laid to rest on Monday, August 24, 2026, following a lying-in-state ceremony attended by family members, colleagues, friends and other well-wishers who gathered to honour the late actor.
Among the Nollywood personalities present in Ilaro for the burial were veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko, as well as Ireti Osayemi, Femi Adebayo, Toyosi Adesanya, Bisi Omo Logbalogba and other members of the film industry.

Quadri was earlier seen in tears as he mourned the death of his longtime colleague, with whom he shared a longstanding relationship and remained among those who rallied around him during his illness.
The burial followed the lying-in-state ceremony held at Pavillon, Ilaro, from 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.
The official announcement of his death was made by fellow veteran actor Jide Kosoko, who disclosed that Ogogo’s remains would be taken to Ilaro ahead of the burial.
The late actor’s death has drawn tributes from colleagues and admirers across the Nigerian film industry, with many remembering him for his contributions to Nollywood.
