A  25-year-old man, Moh’d Musa, has been stabbed to death during a fight in Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis.

The Bauchi State Police Command disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib.

Habib said, “On 22nd August, 2026, at about 2300hrs, a report of culpable homicide was received from Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis.”

He stated that a preliminary investigation revealed that a fight had ensued between Musa and Abubakar Abdullahi, popularly known as ‘Dan Iya’.

According to the police spokesman, “During the altercation, the suspect allegedly brought out a knife and stabbed the said Moh’d Musa,” the PPRO stated.

The victim, he further explained was immediately rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

Habib said operatives attached to the ‘A’ Division Township swiftly responded to the incident, arrested the suspect and recovered the knife allegedly used in the crime.

He added that the victim’s corpse had been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

“The suspect is currently in custody, and investigation is ongoing. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and possible prosecution,” he stated.

Habib disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, had directed a thorough and diligent investigation to ensure that justice was served.

He urged members of the public to shun violence and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
