GTBank usually has a catchy, full-page advert that is always displayed in a national newspaper. Currently, the advert on display is that for its ‘Quick Airtime Loan’ service.
If GTBank can offer its customers a quick airtime loan of up to N10,000 instantly, then why can’t it offer a similar service where it offers its customers a QUICK CASH LOAN of up to N10,000? After all, a bank’s business interests/activities should, among other things, include helping regular people and small businesses with small loans for their everyday needs. Cash loans are more closely related to the services a bank should be offering, rather than or more than services related to telecommunications such as a Quick Airtime Recharge Loan.
I am aware that GTBank has a loan service it calls ‘QuickCredit,’ which allows its customers to borrow up to three months of their salary with a six-month or one-year repayment plan at a 2.95% monthly interest rate. However, the eligibility criteria for qualifying for this loan, I think are quite prohibitive! For example, the customer must be a salary account holder who has maintained a salary account for 12 months.
So, If GTBank can offer its customers a quick airtime loan of up to N10,000 instantly, just by dialling a short code from one’s mobile phone, then why can’t it offer a similar CASH LOAN service where it offers its customers a QUICK CASH LOAN of at least N5,000 or N10,000, without the prohibitive eligibility criteria that it currently has for its ‘QuickCredit’ and ‘Salary Advance’ loan services?
I think that if GTBank considers offering a QUICK CASH LOAN service that has less-prohibitive eligibility/entry criteria/requirements, and can also be easily and instantly accessed like through a mobile short code service (e.g. *737#), alongside its QUICK AIRTIME LOAN service, its customers will appreciate it better. And I believe that a QUICK CASH LOAN service would be more relevant to the needs of people and closer to their hearts. Also, it can really come in handy in case of emergencies. And It can even bring more returns/profits to the bank, through the interest it accrues.
Please, dear Guaranty Trust Bank kindly take this into consideration. Thank you!
