The rate of insecurity in Nigeria today has gotten worse; people can no longer live safely. fear has now become part of every Nigerian’s daily life.
The release of the abducted teachers and students in Oriire local government area of Oyo State raised the hope of Nigerains that things will get better, but the report of another kidnapped headmaster and students who were writing NECO examination in Kogi State raised the fears of many, until their release.
the efforts of the governments and security operatives in protecting lives and properties of the peolple are commendable but they can still do better.
governshould invest in modern technology that will aid security operatives in their investigations and operations, so that victims will be rescued swiftly, and the evil perpetrators will be captured and brought to justice. Cameras, drones and other advanced technology that can be used by the security personnel should be provided.
Also, an alert system should be created with standby security personnel who will always be ready to fight, so that they can promptly intercept and terminate evil operations.
If government can employ more advanced technology, the triumph over insecurity will be easier and faster, and the lost peace will be restored.
