Senator Sunday Karimi has shed more light on the objectives of the “Win With Tinubu” project, disclosing that the team was set to meet with the Kogi state governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to formally present its mission.

Karimi disclosed this on Monday during APC stakeholders meeting held in Lokoja.

He explained that the initiative was designed to support the governor in delivering Kogi state for President Tinubu, through an extensive grassroots mobilisation strategy that covered all the 239 political wards across the state.

According to him, the project would span the three senatorial districts, targeting 97 wards in Kogi East, 85 in Kogi West and 57 in Kogi Central.

He noted that beyond the numerical targets, the initiative was focused on taking the achievements and policies of President Tinubu and other APC candidates directly to the grassroots, with a view to enlightening citizens on government performance and strengthening support for the party.

The senator, however, addressed concerns about the structure and intent of the movement, clarifying that the leadership of the “Win With Tinubu” team would meet Governor Ododo to officially brief him on its activities.

He emphasised that the engagement is necessary to reaffirm that the group is not operating in conflict with the party leadership.

“We are going to meet the governor for him to know officially what we are doing and for everyone to understand that we are not in conflict with the party or seen as coup plotters,” Karimi said.

The clarification, he added, underscored the project was not an alternative political structure but a mobilisation platform aimed at strengthening the APC’s grassroots presence.
