As the official campaign for the 2027 governorship election commences in September 9, 2026, the Adamawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ahmed Galadima Aminu (TAG), is steadily and strategically reaching out to critical stakeholders and other groups across the state. His engagements have extended to youth and women organisers, farmers’ associations, business leaders, community influencers, political stakeholders, and other groups whose support could prove decisive in the 2027 election.
Galadima is demonstrating a distinctive approach to the pursuit of votes, support, alliances, and reconciliation. Rather than relying solely on political rhetoric or attacks against opponents, he has embarked on a broad-based engagement strategy aimed at listening to stakeholders, building relationships, presenting his ideas, and marketing his manifesto, agenda and vision for Adamawa State.
Ahmed Galadima Aminu stands out among the leading candidates seeking to govern Adamawa State because he brings a combination of qualities that are increasingly important in contemporary leadership: he is relatively controversy-free, educated, well-polished, accessible, and passionate about the development of the state. His public engagements so far suggest an emphasis on dialogue, inclusion, competence, and coalition-building.
The Galadima formula appears to rest on three major pillars.
First is Galadima’s personal leadership credentials and experience. His previous service and leadership experience, particularly his time at the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), provide him with an institutional background from which he can draw. His supporters believe that the experience has demonstrated his capacity to manage responsibilities, work within complex institutions, and pursue development-oriented objectives.
Second is the development narrative of the current administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. The Galadima campaign can leverage projects, policies, and achievements recorded by the Fintiri administration, presenting itself as a platform capable of sustaining, consolidating, and improving on areas where progress has been made. This provides the APC campaign with an opportunity to present its message not simply as a call for political change, but as a proposition centred on continuity, consolidation and further development.
Third is the emerging coalition around the Adamawa APC. The party increasingly brings together a broad spectrum of political stakeholders, business leaders, farmers, professionals, youth and women organisations, community actors, and other influential groups. This wider coalition gives the Ahmed Galadima Aminu and Adamu Kamale ticket a potentially formidable grassroots and elite network and consensus
The significance of this alliance lies in its apparent ability to bridge the traditional divide between political elites and ordinary voters. A successful electoral coalition requires both: influential stakeholders who can provide strategic direction and grassroots networks capable of translating political support into votes at the polling units. Galadima is achieving it.
The Galadima-Kamale ticket, is build on a broad political alliance founded on elite support, grassroots acceptance, reconciliation, and stakeholder engagement. It is being well coordinated using the combination provided by the APC with its organisational structure and political momentum
Ultimately, the Galadima formula is not merely about securing endorsements. It is about building relationships, expanding the coalition, selling a credible vision, reconciling interests, and converting political goodwill into organised electoral support.
