Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have settled into their training camp in Trzebnica, Poland, as they intensify preparations for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The two-time runners-up began training on Wednesday at the Stadion Miejski, Fair Play Arena, with the players and technical crew showing strong commitment ahead of the tournament.

The team arrived in Poland on Tuesday and immediately resumed its training programme. The sessions are focused on tactics, technical skills, physical fitness and team bonding.

As part of their final preparations, the Falconets will play two international friendly matches against Poland on August 28 and South Korea on September 1.

The match against hosts Poland will take place on Friday at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg and will kick off at 12 noon local time.

The second friendly against South Korea will be played at the Remes Resort & Spa Football Stadium and will start at 4pm local time.

The matches are expected to help the players adapt to the conditions in Poland, test themselves against different playing styles and gain valuable experience ahead of the World Cup.

The friendly games will also give head coach Moses Aduku and his technical crew the opportunity to assess the team and make necessary changes before the tournament begins.

Captain Joy Igbokwe and defender Faridat Abdulwahab, who were unable to secure visas, have been replaced in the squad by Vivian Kachi and Alaba Olabiyi.

Nigeria will play in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and New Caledonia.

The Falconets will face Spain on September 7, China PR on September 10 and New Caledonia on September 13.

The team will continue training in Trzebnica in the coming days as preparations for the competition intensify.

Nigeria finished as runners-up at the 2010 and 2014 editions of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup and will be hoping to win the title for the first time.
