No Need To Re-upload O’Level Results, Obtain Verification Code – JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload them or obtain a verification code under the Board’s new verification system.

The clarification followed what the Board described as numerous complaints from candidates who were uncertain whether results uploaded during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, or in previous years under the old process were still valid.

In a statement signed by its Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocols, Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said all O’Level results uploaded previously remained valid on its platform and would continue to be recognised.

The Board specifically stated that candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, those who uploaded them after the release of the WAEC results, and candidates who uploaded their results in previous years were not required to repeat the process.

The Board said: “All candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again.”

JAMB explained that the new verification process was introduced to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent the acceptance of falsified results in the admission process.

It added that results uploaded under the previous process would remain available on its platform and would be subjected to the appropriate verification process by tertiary institutions where necessary.

“The new verification process is designed to further strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and ensure that no falsified result is accepted into the admission process.”

The development is expected to ease concerns among candidates who had feared that failure to obtain a new verification code could affect their admission prospects.

JAMB therefore advised affected candidates against making unnecessary repeat uploads of their results simply because the results were uploaded before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.

The Board assured candidates that their previously uploaded O’Level results remained valid and would be available for consideration in the admission process, subject to the required verification by their respective institutions.

“Candidates are therefore advised not to panic or make unnecessary repeat uploads of their O’Level results simply because they were uploaded before the introduction of the new verification arrangement,” JAMB added.
