CJAN appeals to communities and state governments to make housing affordable for corps members across Nigeria.

Corps members have been charged to be patriotic and selfless in their service to the nation by leaving enduring legacies in their host communities.

The governor of Rivers state, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, stated this  Wednesday during the closing ceremony of 2026 Batch B stream II orientation camp for corps members deployed to the state. 

Represented by the permanent secretary, Cabinet Bureau, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Promise Oguzie, Fubara reminded the corps members that they “owe Nigerians the responsibility of serving with integrity, commitment and dedication in order to build a nation of the collective dreams of all citizens.”

He   assured them of his administration’s intentional effort to make their welfare and security a top priority and further charged them to give their very best in serving the good people of the state.

In his farewell address, the state coordinator NYSC, Rivers state, Mr. Moses Oleghe, passionately appealed to the governor to approve the release of funds for the immediate commencement of the building of the 1000-capacity hostel for male and female corps members at the camp.

He advised the corps members to see the service year as a time to develop their skills and gain insights that will shape their future.

A total of 3344 corps members made up of 1,357 males and 1987 females successfully completed the orientation course.
