Prince Sulyman Umaru Bubaram
The Yobe Emirate has appointed Prince Sulyman Umaru Bubaram as the new Magajin Garin Potiskum in Potiskum Local Government Area of the state.
Prince Sulyman, son of the Emir of Potiskum, Alhaji Umaru Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya, was appointed to succeed the late Alhaji Ibrahim Mai Hassan, who previously held the traditional title.
The appointment, approved by the Emir of Potiskum, was in recognition of Prince Sulyman’s hard work, integrity, loyalty and contributions to the development of the Potiskum Emirate Council and Yobe State.
Arewa PUNCH reports that more than 500 family members, friends, traditional title holders and well-wishers converged on the Potiskum Emirate Council for a thanksgiving and solidarity reception held in honour of the newly appointed traditional title holder.
Speaking at the reception, Prince Sulyman, expressed appreciation to the Emir and members of the Emirate Council for the confidence and honour bestowed on him.
He said, “I am deeply grateful to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Potiskum, and members of the Emirate Council for finding me worthy of this honour and responsibility.
“I pledge to uphold the traditions, norms and values of the Potiskum Emirate and to work diligently towards its development, while contributing meaningfully to its growth and positive image.”
The new Magajin Garin Potiskum also expressed appreciation to his relatives, friends and well-wishers from Potiskum, Yobe State and across Nigeria for their support, prayers and solidarity.
He said, “I sincerely appreciate my relatives, friends and well-wishers for their prayers, support and solidarity. I remain committed to contributing my quota to the development of the Emirate and the progress of Yobe State.”
In his remarks, the Emir of Potiskum charged the new Magajin Garin Potiskum to be a worthy ambassador of the Emirate and to discharge his responsibilities with diligence, loyalty and commitment.
He said, “You must remain a worthy ambassador of the Emirate and discharge your responsibilities with diligence, loyalty and commitment for the growth and development of the traditional institution.”
Our correspondent reports that the colourful royal gathering ended with prayers and goodwill messages for the success of the newly appointed traditional title holder.
