The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the Shilla Boys gang in connection with an alleged armed robbery.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the incident occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

“The incident occurred on 27th August, 2026, at about 2300hrs, when the suspects allegedly attacked the complainant with dangerous weapons and robbed him of three mobile handsets around Chinko, Jimeta.

“Following a swift response by residents at the scene and intelligence-driven action by operatives attached to Jimeta Divisional Police Headquarters, the following suspects were arrested.”

According to the statement, the suspects are Bubakar Sadik Muhammed, aka Haske, of Chochi Rumde, and Hamma Jibrilla, aka Dzeco, of Kasan Shinko.

The police said the exhibits recovered were two of the three stolen mobile handsets and one knife.

The statement added that the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Hassan, commended the operatives for their prompt response.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal gangs and ensuring the safety and security of residents across the state.

The CP further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities to the police through the appropriate channels.

The commissioner said the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
