A six-year-old Nigerian girl, Amna Ayomide Bennett, has d+ed after falling from a bedroom window on the 28th floor of an apartment building in Toronto, Canada.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 200 Chalkfarm Drive in the North York area of the city.
Toronto Police said officers responded to the scene around 8:15 p.m. Police spokesperson Amy Davey stated that investigators do not yet know exactly how the child fell, but added that “it does not appear suspicious†at this time.
Toronto Police Superintendent Jack Gurr also confirmed that officers examined the apartment and found no evidence of malicious intent.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian community in Canada has continued to mourn the heartbreaking loss of the young girl, while friends of the family have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her relatives.
