Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, as the presidential campaign coordinator for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju, Adeniran will also serve as the Director-General of the APM Governorship Campaign Council in Oyo State.
The APM has named Mr Bimbo Adekanmbi, a former Commissioner for Finance under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Oyo State.
Other key members of the campaign council include Mr Saheed Arowosaye, a former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, who will serve as Deputy Coordinator, and the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Demola Ojo, who will function as Deputy Director-General (South).
The statement added that Makinde, who is the APM presidential candidate, will formally inaugurate the campaign council on Friday at the conference room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
This development signals intensified preparations by the APM in Oyo State as political activities ahead of the 2027 polls continue to gather momentum.
