Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange NGX on Wednesday closed bearish  declining by N0.648 billion

Market capitalization of listed equities declining by 0.41 per cent to N159.344 trillion from N159.992 trillion reported the previous day.

 The NGX All Share Index also depreciated by 1,004.38 basis points to 246980.17 points from 247984.55 points recorded the previous day.

The negative performance was driven by losses in the shares of FirstHoldco, GTCO Plc, Zenith Bank, HBMNG, Dangote Sugar and 40 other companies .

The market breath was negative with 23 advancers against 45 decliners bringing year to date return to 58.71 per cent 

Volume of trades up by 129.127 million, representing 20.50 per cent as investors traded 758.87 million shares against 629.743 million reported the previous day. Value of transactions up by 2.214 per cent to settle at N33.79 billion.

A review of the investment showed that 

Lasaco Insurance led gainers table with 10 per cent to close at N2.42 per unit, CNif followed with a gain of 9.98 per cebt to close at N154.30 per unit, NEM insurance added 9.97 per cent to close at N34.20 per share, SUNU insurance up by 9.83 per cent to close at N3.91 per share, VFD group added 7.86 per cent to close at N12.35 per unit.

On the contrary

Legend Internet and Cornerstone topped losers chart, dropping by 10 per cent each to close at N4.05 and N5.40 per unit respectively. TIP trailed with a loss of 9.91 per cent to close at N30.00 per share, Guinea Insurance dipped by 9.79 per cent to close at N0.83 per unit, ABCTransport dipped by 9.45 per cent to close at N5.75 per share.
