Nigerian academic, Professor Ogechi Adeola, has been recognised among the Top 10 Scientists in Rwanda in the 2026 AD Scientific Index, emerging as the country’s leading researcher in Business and Management.
Adeola, who is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) at the University of Kigali, received the recognition for her contributions to research and scholarly impact.
The honour comes months after she was named among the Stanford–Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2025, further cementing her reputation for research excellence.
According to the University of Kigali in a statement on Wednesday, the recognition reflects Adeola’s sustained commitment to advancing knowledge through research, innovation and academic leadership.
“Professor Adeola’s achievements exemplify the transformative role of research, innovation and academic leadership in advancing knowledge and addressing societal challenges,” the university said.
It added that her work continues to enhance the institution’s global visibility while contributing significantly to scholarship in Rwanda, across Africa and beyond.
The AD Scientific Index evaluates the scientific performance and impact of more than 2.6 million researchers across 24,000 institutions in 221 countries, recognising scientists whose work has demonstrated sustained academic influence.
The University of Kigali congratulated Adeola on the achievement, describing it as a milestone that reflects her outstanding contribution to academia and her representation of the institution on both the national and global stage.
