An intelligence-driven operation by the Bauchi State Police Command has led to the recovery of six stolen cows and the arrest of a suspected cattle rustler in Bununu, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.

The command said the operation followed a complaint by a resident of Nasarawa Village through Lim Ward, who reported that unknown persons had stolen six cows from his residence in the early hours of July 29.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said officers from Bununu Division, working alongside Danga Security personnel, tracked the movement of the cattle towards the Dull axis.

He said intelligence gathered during the operation resulted in the arrest of 20-year-old Musa Abdullahi, who allegedly admitted to rustling the animals.

The recovered cows have been returned into police custody as investigations continue.

The command said the matter would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for detailed investigation before prosecution.

Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, lauded the officers and local security volunteers for their swift action and encouraged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with credible information.
