Army probes leaked DSS memo warning of Adamawa, Borno attacks
The Nigerian Army has launched an internal investigation into the leakage of a classified Department of State Services intelligence report that warned of planned attacks by suspected Boko Haram insurgents and bandits in parts of Adamawa and Borno states.

Senior officers at the 232 Battalion in Yola are probing how the confidential document, already registered at the battalion, was circulated publicly, triggering panic among residents.
The July 27 memo had alerted the military to threats targeting officials, traditional rulers and residents in Michika (Adamawa) and Askira Uba (Borno).

Oyo abduction: Why we tracked, arrested kidnappers’ families – Tinubu
President Tinubu told Oyo traditional rulers that his government refused to negotiate or pay ransom to the militants who abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire in May, and instead tracked and arrested members of the kidnappers’ families and communities.
He described the military-led rescue after 56 days as intelligence-driven and successful without ransom payment.
Tinubu also linked the expansion of the Army from eight to 12 divisions, plans to retrain forest guards, and the push for state police to the security lessons from the incident.

NNPC deploys over 1,000 new employees
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has deployed more than 1,000 young professionals into its workforce after a one-year internship, intensive training and evaluation programme.
Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari, described the exercise as a major milestone, stressing that the recruits earned their places through merit and performance rather than connections.

Police release Osun SSG
