Renowned Journalist, Abese Olubadan, Lekan Alabi passes away at 76

Veteran journalist and respected public relations expert, Lekan Alabi, is dead.
Alabi, who held the traditional title of Abese of Olubadan, passed away on Saturday morning in Lagos at the age of 76, according to a statement issued by the Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Widely regarded as one of Oyo State’s most accomplished media professionals, Alabi served as press secretary to several former governors of the state during his distinguished career in journalism and public service.

His death was announced in a press release signed by the Media Aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Adeola Oloko.
Family sources disclosed that the late journalist will be buried on Sunday in accordance with Islamic rites.

Alabi’s passing marks the end of a remarkable career in journalism, public communication, and service to Oyo State. He was admired for his contributions to the media profession and his commitment to preserving the history and culture of Ibadan.
