Brock Lesnar has endorsed Nigeria professional wrestler Torioluwa Odugbesan, popularly known as Oba Femi, as WWE’s future after losing their Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam night one on Saturday night, Post Wrestling reports.

Lesnar initially left ringside with Paul Heyman following the main event at U.S. Bank Stadium. He then returned to the ring, embraced Femi and raised his opponent’s arm.

After taking a microphone, Lesnar addressed the crowd and viewers watching the event.

“Here’s the future of WWE,” Lesnar said. “Congratulations. This is the past. This is the future.”

Lesnar pointed to himself while referring to the past, then gestured toward Femi as the future. He raised Femi’s arm again before leaving him to close the show.

Femi had defeated Lesnar with the Fall from Grace at 11:41, winning the deciding match in their series.

The contest began with Femi charging at Lesnar and attacking him in the corner. Lesnar answered with three German suplexes, but Femi immediately returned to his feet and clotheslined him outside.

Their fight moved around ringside, where Femi drove Lesnar into the cell and steel steps. He then placed a table against the cage and sent Lesnar through it.

Lesnar regained control after bringing the ring steps and chairs inside. He struck Femi repeatedly with the steps, delivered more suplexes and drove him onto two chairs.

Femi escaped an F5 and responded with a chokeslam before landing the Fall from Grace for a near fall.

Lesnar then hit three consecutive F5s, but Femi kicked out. He followed with several chair shots before tearing away part of the canvas and padding to expose the wooden boards beneath the ring.

After mimicking The Undertaker’s throat-cutting gesture, Lesnar delivered a Tombstone piledriver onto the exposed boards and folded Femi’s arms across his chest for the cover. Femi again kicked out.

Lesnar reached for the chair once more, but Femi punched it from his hands and delivered a second Fall from Grace for the pin.

Born in Lagos, Oba Femi competed in track and field during his high school and college years.

After signing with the WWE in 2021 through its NIL program, Oba Femi won the 2023 NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament and 2024 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Oba Femi rose to prominence in 2026 by beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42. He is the current King of the Ring.
