Ossai Success Ovie, former media aide to the Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has claimed that the wedding ceremony of popular Nigerian TikTok stars, Peller and Jarvis, was overrated and overhyped.
Giving a review of the week-long star-studded wedding ceremony which started on July 29, Ossai Success expressed disappointment in the whole arrangement, saying the wedding didn’t meet his expectations despite the noise ahead of the wedding.
Ossai said he was invited but couldn’t make it due to other engagements, but he was hoping the wedding would be classic.
He wrote, “The Peller and Jarvis wedding was overrated and over hyped.
“I’ve been following up on the Peller and Jarvis wedding, and I must confess, I am disappointed.
“Though I was invited but couldn’t make it due to other engagements, the wedding didn’t meet my expectations.
“There was too much noise ahead of the wedding, and after getting my invitation, I was hoping it would be a classic. But my hope was dashed.
“The whole arrangement was underwhelming. From what was shown online, the decor, setup, and overall vibe looked like a regular influencer wedding, not the historic classic we were sold.
“When you promise cinema and deliver a YouTube vlog, people will be disappointed.
There were reports of crowd control issues, late arrivals, and a chaotic entrance. For a wedding that had so much PR, the logistics looked rushed; VIPs and guests were seen struggling for space.
The pre-wedding content was more about drama, PR stunts, and clout than the actual union.
It became about the Peller and Jarvis brand instead of the marriage.
A wedding should be about love, family, and covenant first. When you over-commercialise it, the heart of it gets lost, and all people remember is the hype.
They’re still young though. I hope they learn and focus more on building the marriage than the brand”.
Recall that after their court wedding, Ossai expressed hope that the couple had a prenup before legalising their union. He made it clear that he wants to see them win; however, marriage is about money, fame and the internet, and one needs wisdom.
