Ahead of the 2027 election, the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has urged the electorate and stakeholders in the state to remain hopeful.

He stated that his campaign platform, “Journey of Grace,” has developed a structured blueprint aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of the citizens.

Prince Madumere, a senatorial hopeful for the Owerri zone under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this declaration during an address at the Faculty of Health Science Students Association’s Medical Outreach event.

He called for a renewed commitment to continuous community-based health interventions and reaffirmed his dedication to supporting initiatives that promote quality healthcare, youth development, and the overall well-being of the people of Imo State.

He remarked, “I have the capacity, acumen, and skills, coupled with the connections to represent the people effectively. I embody the real deal, as a new Owerri zone is possible, by the special grace of God.”

Madumere emphasised that good health is the foundational pillar upon which education, productivity, and sustainable development are built.

The top contender for the Imo East senatorial district stressed that preventive healthcare delivery systems, such as free medical outreach programs, help reduce the burden of diseases by encouraging early detection, timely intervention, and increasing public awareness.

He noted that the outreach showcased the true essence of the medical profession’s service to humanity, adding that students who dedicate their time and knowledge to improve the lives of others are already demonstrating the qualities of responsible professionals and future leaders.

While applauding the Faculty of Health Science Students’ Association (FOHSSA) at Imo State University, Owerri, for organising a successful free health outreach, he described the initiative as a practical demonstration of leadership through service and compassion.

The philanthropist urged the students to remain focused and study diligently to achieve success in their academics, while also appreciating the leadership and members of FOHSSA for extending healthcare beyond the classroom.

Prince Madumere also praised the wide range of services offered during the outreach, including BMI assessments, vital signs checks, HIV screening, eye examinations, blood sugar testing, malaria screening, medical consultations, health education, and counseling.

He remarked that such interventions would positively impact many individuals who may not have easy access to these crucial healthcare services.

He said: “The paradigm shift advocate encouraged the students to remain committed to excellence, professionalism, and community service, assuring that society needs more young people who combine academic knowledge with compassion and a genuine desire to make a difference in society. “
