An ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has pledged to mobilise support to secure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in Bauchi State and across the North-East during the 2027 general elections.

Dogara made this pledged on Sunday, at the inauguration of the Tinubu Support Bauchi 2027 campaign movement held in Bauchi.

Represented by his aide and APC Bauchi South Zonal Youth Leader, Haruna Aliyu, the former Speaker expressed support for the newly inaugurated support group and other organisations working towards Tinubu’s second-term bid.

While delivering Dogara’s goodwill message, Aliyu described the former Speaker as a consistent supporter of youth development and empowerment, urging members of the All Progressives Congress to rally behind the President.

He said, “As one of his staff members and among those mobilising young people, I believe it is important for us to attend this gathering to honour our leader and demonstrate our unwavering support for him.

“Whenever his support is needed, he is always there for the youth, offering guidance, assistance, and working tirelessly to create opportunities that will improve their lives. By the grace of Allah, whenever he has the opportunity to help, he never hesitates to do so.

“Therefore, this major gathering, which is being held to express support for the President and his continued leadership of the country, deserves our full participation.

“As APC youths across Nigeria, we should attend, demonstrate our solidarity, and be part of this movement so that we are counted among those contributing to its success.”

Aliyu, who also maintained that Dogara had consistently championed youth empowerment even before leaving office, stressed that he had continued to create opportunities for young people through employment and empowerment initiatives.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Tinubu Support Bauchi 2027, Musa Naa-Manzo, described the inauguration of the movement as the beginning of a grassroots mobilisation drive aimed at ensuring Tinubu’s victory in the next presidential election.

He said, “As we gather here today in Bauchi, a state rich in culture and potential, we are reminded of the great responsibilities that lie ahead. Our nation stands at a crossroads, facing challenges that require bold leadership and innovative solutions.

“We are fortunate to have Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the helm of our aspirations—a leader whose track record speaks volumes about his dedication to public service and his capacity to transform challenges into opportunities.”

Naa-Manzo pointed out that the campaign was not only about winning elections but also about building a united platform that would engage youths, women and elders across communities.

“The campaign movement we launch today is not just about winning elections; it is about igniting a movement and for change. It is about reaching out to every corner of our communities, engaging with our youth, women and elders alike, and ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

“We must unite as one formidable force, transcending ethnic and religious divides, to champion the cause of progress and development,” he admonished the supporters.

The Chairman of the Tinubu Support Movement assured that the movement would embark on extensive grassroots mobilisation in the coming months while promoting Tinubu’s policies on economic revitalisation, job creation, infrastructure development and education reforms.

Naa-Manzo urged members of the support group to remain united, focused and committed, expressing confidence that their collective efforts would deliver Bauchi State, the North-East and Nigeria to Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
