Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he is a devoted fan of Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and claimed that he regularly communicates with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

The singer made the revelation during a livestream with content creator and streamer Carter Efe, where he also explained why he supported Portugal to win the recently concluded 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“Because I have a lot of friends in the Portuguese team. I want Portugal to win,” Davido said.

When Carter Efe suggested that his support was mainly because of Ronaldo, Davido replied, “I love Ronaldo. I’m a CR7 fan.”

The ‘If’ crooner went further to claim that he frequently exchanges messages with the football legend.

Speaking in Pidgin English, Davido said he talks to the “legend back to back” before showing Carter Efe what appeared to be a chat conversation with Ronaldo on his phone.

Reacting with excitement, Carter Efe repeatedly exclaimed:

God, I don mad! I don mad! I don mad! I don mad!”

The clip has since gone viral across social media platforms, sparking widespread reactions from fans.
