The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Sokoto State, Alhaji Sambo Bello Danchadi, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to partnering with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) to promote public awareness on the development and utilization of the state’s abundant raw materials.

The Commissioner gave the assurance when he received the Sokoto State Coordinator of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Hajiya Nadiya Bawa Abubakar, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Alhaji Sambo Bello Danchadi stated that Sokoto State is richly blessed with abundant agricultural and mineral resources, stressing that proper utilization and value addition to these raw materials would enhance industrial development, create employment opportunities, and boost the state’s economy.

He emphasized the need for closer collaboration between the Ministry and the Council in sensitizing the public on the economic importance of harnessing local raw materials, assuring the State Coordinator of the Ministry’s unwavering support through its various information dissemination platforms.

Earlier, the Sokoto State Coordinator of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Hajiya Nadiya Bawa Abubakar, said the visit was aimed at seeking collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Orientation to strengthen public enlightenment on the Council’s programmes and activities.

She explained that the Council is committed to promoting the development, processing, and utilization of locally available raw materials to support industrial growth and national development, adding that collaboration with the Ministry would greatly enhance awareness among the people of Sokoto State.

The meeting ended with both parties expressing their commitment to working together to promote the effective utilization of the state’s rich agricultural and mineral resources for sustainable socio-economic development.
