To curb incessant banditry and kidnapping in the Kwara South Senatorial District, particularly the Igbomina axis, the National President of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Sir Bisi Fakayode, has disclosed that the organisation has put necessary machinery in motion to organise a special prayer session for permanent peace across the region on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

According to Fakayode, the prayer session, earlier scheduled to hold on Friday, August 7, 2026, in conjunction with the Chairman of Omo Ibile Igbomina Christian Forum, Rev. Dr S. O. Olarewaju, had to be postponed till the following day due to unforeseen developments that affected the availability of the Guest Minister, Prophet M. O. Adio, whose ministry remains a central aspect of the programme.

“After due consultation with the leadership of Omo Ibile Igbomina, it was unanimously agreed that the programme be moved to Saturday, 8th August, 2026, while other activities originally fixed for that day have been rescheduled to accommodate this important spiritual gathering.

“The venue remains Omo Ibile Igbomina National Secretariat (Igbomina House), Ganmo, in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

“The programme, themed ‘Help From Above’, with its anchor scripture from Psalm 121:1–8, is a solemn gathering to seek God’s divine intervention for lasting peace, security, unity, restoration, progress and prosperity across Igbomina Land,” Fakayode added.

The event, according to the National President, would feature Prophet M. O. Adio as Guest Minister and will be attended by revered traditional rulers, eminent Christian leaders, ministers of the Gospel and other distinguished personalities from across Igbomina Land.

The National President sincerely appreciated the understanding, patience and unwavering support of all Igbomina Christians and members of the public regarding this unavoidable last-minute adjustment, appealing to everyone to assist in giving the new date the widest possible publicity so that no one is left uninformed.

While expressing regret for any inconveniences the change might have caused, the President encouraged all Igbomina Christians to attend in large numbers with their families, friends and loved ones, adding that “together we will lift Igbomina Land unto God, from whom true help comes”.

Participants are kindly requested to arrive and be seated on or before 9:00 a.m. to ensure a smooth and dignified commencement of the programme.
