The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Ahmadu Musa Kida, has commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu over the success recorded by Team Nigeria at the just concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Mr. Kida, in a statement on Wednesday said the role played by the president was instrumental in the preparation and performance of Nigerian athletes.

He noted that the NSC provided technical support and capacity building that helped boost the morale and readiness of the contingent throughout the games.

The NBBF President further applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for athletics and team officials during the competition.

He said the president’s commitment to sports development created an enabling environment that allowed athletes to compete favorably and represent the country with pride on the global stage.

According to Kida, the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow marked the beginning of a new era in Nigerian sports where the welfare of athletes is being given top priority.

He emphasised that improved welfare packages and better administrative coordination have begun to yield positive results for the country’s sporting fortunes.

In the same vein, Alhaji Kida, who also serves as Chairman of the NNPCL Board, further commended Nigerians and the team for a job well done in Glasgow.

He said the strategic planning and coordination of the athletes ensured that they excel.

Kida expressed optimism that with continued collaboration among sports administrators, government, and stakeholders, Nigeria will record even greater achievements in future international competitions.

He urged corporate organisations and Nigerians to keep supporting sports development as a tool for national unity and youth empowerment.
