Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced that he will hold a press conference on Wednesday, August 5 to address key issues surrounding the forthcoming August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.

The singer made the announcement in a post on X on Tuesday.

“I will be having a press conference tomorrow in Imole House, Osogbo to discuss security, INEC and transparency issues,” Davido wrote.

According to the poster for the press conference, the event is scheduled to hold at the Imole House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo at 11 a.m.

The event is expected to focus on security concerns, the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), electoral transparency and other major issues ahead of the Osun governorship election.

Davido who serves as the Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilization Committee, is organising the event in collaboration with the Accord Party and the Imole Youth Mobilization Team.

Davido, a nephew of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has remained actively involved in political mobilisation in the state and is expected to speak on measures aimed at ensuring a peaceful, free and credible election.

The August 15 governorship election is expected to be keenly contested, with political parties intensifying campaigns across the state.
