The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of popular Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba.

News of her passing emerged on Wednesday after fellow actor Alesh Sanni announced the heartbreaking development in an emotional post shared on his Instagram page.

Expressing his grief, Sanni said he had been unable to sleep since receiving the devastating news as he described the late actress as a dear sister and recalled the memorable moments they shared over the years.

“Couldn’t sleep since last night, it’s well. Rest in peace my dearest sister, Temitope Osoba. We had amazing time and good memories together, till we meet again. I really dunno what to say mehn, gosh,” he wrote.

Sanni’s announcement has since generated tributes from fans, colleagues and other members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, many of whom took to social media to mourn the actress and celebrate her life and career.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of Temitope Osoba’s death had not been disclosed.

Osoba was well known for her roles in several Yoruba-language Nollywood productions, where she earned recognition for her talent, versatility and outstanding performances.
