Ekiti PDP candidate, Wole Oluyede and President Bola Tinubu
The Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the just-concluded Ekiti State governorship election, Wole Oluyede, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu can get overwhelming support in the state with strategic grassroots mobilisation and collective commitment.
The PDP chieftain, who reiterated unflinching support for Tinubu’s reelection in 2027, expressed readiness to launch a platform, the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda, to champion consultations among leadership and members of the different political parties in the state with a view to deepening grassroots mobilisation for the president’s victory.
Oluyede, in a statement made available in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, on Thursday, said the decision to launch the platform followed a strategic meeting with Tinubu in Abuja where he formally presented a document titled ‘Strategic grassroots mobilisation for the Renewed Hope Agenda’ to the president.
According to him, the document is a blueprint designed to deepen grassroots engagement and mobilise broad-based support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda across Ekiti State ahead of the 2027 general election.
Oluyede stated, “The meeting with the president focused on the future of Ekiti State and practical strategies for building an inclusive grassroots movement capable of strengthening public participation, promoting national unity and delivering overwhelming electoral support for President Tinubu in the next presidential election”.
“While the June 20, 2026 Ekiti State governorship election has come and gone, the task of building a stronger Ekiti and contributing to Nigeria’s continued progress must now take centre stage. Our focus must now shift to the next national assignment. It is time for all lovers of Ekiti and Nigeria to unite in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
“I strongly believe that through unity, strategic grassroots mobilisation and the collective support of the people, Ekiti State can emerge as one of the leading states in delivering overwhelming votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election,” he noted.
According to him, OPARHA, which will operate under the theme, ‘Mobilising grassroots support for national development,’ seeks to promote constructive civic engagement while encouraging greater public understanding of government policies and programmes.
He said, “This movement is open to every well-meaning son and daughter of Ekiti State who believes in progress, unity and national development. Our collective responsibility now is to work together beyond political affiliations in the interest of our state and our country”.
Oluyede stated that ahead of the launch of OPARHA, he would begin extensive consultations with leaders of the PDP, the All Progressives Congress, Labour Party, African Democratic Congress, Social Democratic Party, among other political parties and support groups.
Oluyede, who lauded Ekiti PDP leaders, stakeholders and members for the confidence and trust reposed in him throughout the June 20 governorship election, urged his supporters not to lose hope, but to remain peaceful, united and committed to the progress of the state.
