Nigeria’s representatives in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup, Shooting Stars and El-Kanemi Warriors, have discovered their opponents after Thursday’s draw in Cairo.

Shooting Stars will take on Tunisian club CS Sfaxien in the first preliminary round. The Ibadan club will play the first leg at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne before travelling to Tunisia for the return leg in Sfax.

The winner of the tie will face either Côte d’Ivoire’s AF Amadou Diallo or Sierra Leone’s East End Lions in the second preliminary round.

El-Kanemi Warriors will begin their campaign against Guinea-Bissau’s União Desportiva Internacional (UDIB).

If the Maiduguri club defeats UDIB, they will face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the second preliminary round. Raja Casablanca is one of the eight clubs that received a bye to the second round.

The first-leg matches in the competition will be played between September 4 and 6, while the return legs are scheduled for September 11 to 13.

Both Nigerian clubs will be hoping to progress through the preliminary rounds and qualify for the group stage of Africa’s second-tier club competition.
