The national executive council of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Alumni Association, under the leadership of Dr Stephen Olawale Fasakin, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the new registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The association in a statement by Dr Fasakin, its national president, also congratulated Professor Aina on his appointment and assumption of office at the board.

In the statement it described the appointment as “well-deserved” and said, “We have no doubt that the new registrar brings to bear a wealth of experience, integrity, and dedication to duty.”

Fasakin added that the association believes in excellence in education, and therefore wished Professor Aina, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to excel in the office.

They also expressed the hope that Aina, through his delivery in office would “surpass the achievements of your predecessors and bring about greater reforms, transparency, and efficiency in the conduct of admissions into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.”

Fasakin assured Aina of the readiness of the association, and the Association of Nigerian Universities Alumni (ANUA), where he serves as a deputy chairman, “to partner with JAMB in advancing the frontiers of quality education and credible examinations in our country.”

The association also expressed its appreciation to Professor Ishaq Oloyede for a meritorious and impactful tenure as Registrar of JAMB, and also congratulated him.

“Professor Oloyede is one of the leading lights of the UNILORIN Alumni Association and a worthy ambassador of our great institution. You have represented us exceptionally well and made us proud,” the association stated.
