Eniah Diggs, 19, and a 16-year-old girl have been charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking after allegedly taking a vehicle at gunpoint from a 27-year-old man on the 4500 block of South Wood Street on August 6. Both were arrested within minutes of the carjacking. A detention hearing is scheduled for August 7 at Leighton Criminal Courthouse.

A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl have been charged with carjacking a 27-year-old man at gunpoint on Chicago’s South Side after both were arrested within minutes of the incident, according to Chicago Police.

At approximately 12:47 p.m. on August 6, 2026, the two offenders allegedly took a vehicle at gunpoint from a 27-year-old male victim in the 4500 block of South Wood Street in the 9th District.

Chicago Police arrested Eniah Diggs, 19, of the 7900 block of South Ingleside Avenue, at 1:02 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Wolcott Avenue, approximately 15 minutes after the carjacking.

The 16-year-old female juvenile was arrested three minutes later at 1:05 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 46th Street.

The Charges

Eniah Diggs faces one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.

The 16-year-old girl faces one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and one felony count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon in a vehicle while under 21 years of age.

A detention hearing for Diggs is scheduled for August 7, 2026, at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse at 2600 South California Avenue. The juvenile will appear before the Cook County Juvenile Court.
