MAA Insight Room, a new thought leadership platform has been created by Mabel Adeteye, a business, brand and executive communications strategist to deepen conversations around business, branding, leadership and executive communications.

Adeteye is Forbes Communications Council member and head of brands & marketing communications at Wema Bank Plc.

She said the growing volume of information available today has not necessarily translated into better thinking or stronger decision-making.

“The MAA Insight Room brings professionals, founders, business leaders and emerging talents into practical conversations that go beyond popular opinions to examine the thinking, judgement and decisions behind meaningful business and career outcomes”, Adeteye said.

“We live in a time where people have access to more information, more opinions and more tools than ever before, but access does not automatically produce insight,” she said.

“The real advantage is no longer simply knowing more. It is being able to ask better questions, recognise what others may overlook and apply knowledge with judgement. The quality of our decisions will always depend on the quality of our thinking.”

She said MAA Insight Room was created to provide a space for conversations that are often reduced to quick answers, generic advice or surface-level commentary.

Adeteye has led high-stakes initiatives for global brands—from crisis management and product launches to CSR programs—showcased in her work across corporate restructuring, B2B/B2C communications, and perception management.

Through regular live sessions, Adeteye will draw from her experience across business strategy, brand building, marketing, leadership and executive communications to unpack the realities behind building trusted brands, leading effectively, navigating professional growth and making decisions in increasingly complex environments.

The platform will also challenge the traditional approach to thought leadership, where topics are often determined solely by the speaker. Participants will be invited to submit the questions, challenges and subjects they want explored when registering for each session.

Adeteye explained that this approach is deliberate. “I do not want to build a room around what I assume people need. I want to hear what they are thinking about, what they are struggling to understand and the conversations they believe are not happening enough,” she said.

“The room is not only about sharing what I know. It is about creating a place where experience meets curiosity and where the questions from the audience can lead us into more useful and honest conversations.”

The launch represents a further extension of Adeteye’s longstanding commitment to mentorship, knowledge sharing and professional development.

Over the years, she has led teams, developed and executed major brand and communications initiatives both locally and internationally, advised leaders and organisations, trained professionals and contributed to conversations on the future of brands, communications and leadership.

She noted, however, that MAA Insight Room is not intended to present experience as a collection of perfect answers.

“Experience is valuable not because it makes you right all the time, but because it teaches you to recognise patterns, understand consequences and see decisions from more than one perspective,” she said.

“I have always believed that before you teach, you should first do the work. You should earn your convictions through experience, have enough wins to be credible, enough failures to be honest and enough perspective to know that you are still learning.”

“MAA Insight Room will hold every first Friday of every month at 7pm and it will explore themes across business, brand and executive communications strategy, including leadership, visibility, professional positioning, brand trust, marketing, organisational reputation and the realities of navigating work and business.

“The first session holds on Friday, August 7, 2026 and is free to attend, although registration is required. Participants will receive access details after completing the registration process,” she said.

Adeteye said the long-term ambition is to build a platform that helps people not only find answers, but improve the way they think about the questions before them.

“Some conversations end too quickly. Others never happen at all. MAA Insight Room is my response to both,” she said.

“This is a room for deeper thinking, practical insight and honest conversations that can help people see more clearly, make better decisions and move forward with greater confidence.”
