The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, has congratulated the Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, on the occasion of his 61st birthday, describing the milestone as “worthy of celebration.”
In a congratulatory message, the Emir praised Governor Idris for his track record of selflessness, generosity, and demonstrated commitment to purposeful leadership from his early years to date.
Reflecting on personal experiences, Emir Sami Gomo III recalled the Governor’s kindness to the Zuru Royal family.
“From my experience, you sponsored the medical treatment of my late father, Major-General Muhammadu Sani Sami Gomo II, at a foreign hospital.
“When he eventually passed away, you personally brought the corpse back home and gave him a befitting burial,” the Emir stated.
He also acknowledged Governor Idris’ role in upholding justice and due process during the process that led to his ascension to the throne.
“Similarly, I, and indeed the people of Zuru Emirate, will never forget how, in the spirit of justice and fairness, you allowed due process and public interest to prevail, which resulted in my accession to the throne,” the Emir declared.
The traditional ruler further commended the Governor for the provision of critical infrastructure and viable economic empowerment programmes in the Emirate.
While acknowledging the administration’s efforts, the Emir called for more result-oriented measures to address security challenges in the state.
“Although your visible, relentless efforts and sincere commitment to bring an end to the menace are acknowledged and appreciated,” he said, “more needs to be done.”
In conclusion, Alhaji Sanusi prayed for increased success, God’s continuous guidance, blessings, and good health for the Comrade Governor to enable him to sustain the remarkable achievements recorded across all sectors of development in Kebbi State.
